Overview

Prof. Intan Ahmad, Ph.D. is an entomologist specializing in the field of urban, medical, and industrial entomology, with a particular emphasis on vector surveillance and control of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. Throughout his career, Intan has dedicated his efforts to contributing to the field of entomology.

Intan has been involved in valuable investigations concerning urban insect populations that have developed resistance to insecticides. His research focuses on developing innovative methods for the effective management of diverse urban and industrial pests, including the exploration of baiting and repellent strategies.

In previous research endeavors, Intan explored the adaptive significance of behavioral and physiological characteristics in insects. He also conducted studies on agricultural insect pests, such as Plutella xylostella, Spodoptera exempta, and Helicoverpa armigera, with a specific focus on their behavior and the utilization of natural plant products for pest control purposes.

With a wealth of experience in designing and conducting rigorous efficacy tests for insecticides in various settings, including urban/field and laboratory environments, Intan also provides valuable insights and guidance as an experienced urban pest control consultant.

In addition to his scientific research and consulting work, he has also amassed extensive experience and success in the field of higher education, both within his home country and on an international scale.
