Stability test of biosurfactant produced by Bacillus licheniformis DS1 using experimental design and its application for MEOR
Microbial enhanced oil recovery (MEOR) as a tertiary oil recovery technique is a biology-based method in which microbial metabolites and activities are used to improve the recovery of residual oil from depleted and marginal reservoirs. Biosurfactant is a microbial bioproduct that plays an important role in MEOR applications. In this study, Dr. Isty Adhitya Purwasena and colleagues investigated the stability of biosurfactant produced from Bacillus licheniformis DS1 using a design experiment based on response surface methodology, suggesting a high potential application for MEOR.
