Our commitment
The School of Life Sciences and Technology (SITH), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), is committed to excellence in education and innovation in the life sciences. For decades, SITH-ITB has nurtured graduates who now play key roles across research, industry, environmental, and healthcare sectors.
The International Undergraduate Program (IUP) in Biology is designed to inspire globally minded scientists and innovators. Students can choose to specialize in Biomedical Science or Marine and Coastal Biology, each offering an engaging combination of interactive learning, laboratory and field experiences, and research-based projects. Through the IUP in Biology, students also gain international academic exposure via student exchange and joint degree programs; opening doors to global collaboration, cutting-edge science, and a truly international learning journey.
Specializations
Biomedical Science (Emphasizing in Bioinformatics)
Delve into the study of animal systems—anatomy, development, physiology, and biotechnology—to understand life from molecules to
medicine. This specialization bridges Genetics, Molecular & Biotechnology with Animal Physiology & Biomedical Science, preparing students for careers in fields such as medical research, stem cell biology, and neurobiology.
International Experience: Spend one year abroad at Chang Gung University (Taiwan) or other global partner universities.
Marine and Coastal Biology
Dive into the dynamic world of marine life and coastal ecosystems. This specialization provides an in-depth understanding of marine ecology, aquaculture, and sustainable ecosystem management, combining hands-on fieldwork with advanced laboratory studies. Students gain the
knowledge and skills to tackle current and emerging challenges in marine conservation and coastal resource management.
International Experience: Spend one year abroad at a partner university
specializing in marine and environmental sciences.
