Pramesti Istiandari, M.Eng., Ph.D., specializes in plant biotechnology, focusing on the biosynthesis of triterpenoids in legumes such as Lotus japonicus and Abrus precatorius. Her research employs genomic and transcriptomic studies, metabolite profiling, and genetic engineering using CRISPR/Cas9. Her research emphasizes profiling specialized plant compounds using GC-MS, particularly terpenoid compounds. She also explores metabolic engineering in transgenic Saccharomyces cerevisiae for heterologous triterpenoid production. Her work aims to deepen the understanding of secondary metabolite pathways and advance biotechnological applications for plant-based products.
