RINGKASAN
Dr. Indra Wibowo is a researcher and lecturer member of the Animal Physiology, Development, and Biomedical Sciences expertise group who focuses primarily on developmental biology. Dr. Indra is currently leading research topics on nutrogenomics and nutrigenetics, fish immune system, selection of natural products and hair cells regeneration in zebra fish (Danio rerio), as well as selection of natural products and degenerative diseases. Over the years, Dr. Indra had been working with fish, carp and zebra fish, as animal models to investigate several biological phenomena, such as the ones related to immune system and sensory/nervous system as well as tissue regeneration. He intended to perform biomedical research using zebra fish, especially on tropical diseases. The current topics that he is developing include small molecules screening from marine algae that have potency in inducing and inhibiting tissue regeneration, as well as natural product discovery for disease treatments associated with nervous, vascular and immune systems. He primarily utilise the model organism zebra fish for in vivo study in combination with animal tissue culture for in vitro study.
