OVERVIEW

Prof.Intan Ahmad, Ph.D. is an entomologist specializing in the field of urban, medical, and industrial entomology, with a particular emphasis on vector surveillance and control of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. Throughout his career, Intan has dedicated his efforts to contributing to the field of entomology.

 

Intan has been involved in valuable investigations concerning urban insect populations that have developed resistance to insecticides. His research focuses on developing innovative methods for the effective management of diverse urban and industrial pests, including the exploration of baiting and repellent strategies.

 

Dalam penelitian sebelumnya, Intan mengeksplorasi signifikansi adaptif karakteristik perilaku dan fisiologis serangga. Beliau juga melakukan penelitian terhadap serangga hama pertanian, seperti Plutella xylostella, Spodoptera exempta, and Helicoverpa armigera, dengan fokus khusus pada perilaku mereka dan pemanfaatan produk tumbuhan alami untuk tujuan pengendalian hama.

 

With a wealth of experience in designing and conducting rigorous efficacy tests for insecticides in various settings, including urban/field and laboratory environments, Intan also provides valuable insights and guidance as an experienced urban pest control consultant.

 

In addition to his scientific research and consulting work, he has also amassed extensive experience and success in the field of higher education, both within his home country and on an international scale.
