Prof. Agus Dana Permana and Khalilan Lambangsari, together with the team, explored an innovative solution for managing bovine blood biowaste through bioconversion by Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae. By combining food waste and bovine blood as feedstock, they evaluated the larvae’s growth performance, survival rate, waste reduction index, and nutritional content. Remarkably, the treatment with 20% bovine blood yielded the highest growth rate and protein content. Their findings highlight the potential of BSF larvae to transform bovine blood into high-protein biomass, offering a sustainable and valuable feed source for poultry and aquaculture industries.
